Join us at the Bryant Lake Bowl & Theater for Story Club Minneapolis' September season premiere, marking the start of our FIFTH year in the Twin Cities!
As always, Story Club's structure is half open-mic, half curated performers. Our stage showcases stories, like a slam, but without the intimidating and competitive judges and scoring. It's a great, welcoming evening for beginners and polished artists alike.
Before each show, audience members are invited to put their names in the hat (okay, it's a jar) for the opportunity to tell an up-to-7-minute story onstage. The four storytellers picked from the jar by the host will entertain and charm us with their tales, and they'll be followed by our featured guests. Does this make you want to tell a story? GOOD! (Do it! Do it! Do it!)
September's Featured Storytellers Are....
Anne Myers!
In her professional life, Anne has been a hospice manager for 19 years. She's been performing improv with ComedySportz Twin Cities for the past couple years, and recently began telling stories as well, winning the monthly Moth Story Slam her third time on stage. Her material blends vulnerability, insight and dark humor, and sometimes pro tips for assembling Ikea furniture.
and
Paul Canada Nemeth!
