When I was a child my great-aunt told me Baba Yaga stories, and I was both captivated and terrified. Now that I am becoming a crone, Baba Yaga again fascinates me. Becoming Baba Yaga explored the connections between aging, magic, and what it means to fully embrace my own witchy self. Personal narrative is woven into traditional Baba Yaga tales passed through my family, and The Witch of the Woods has a thing or two to say herself.
