This 5-week, 12-hour online class is open to all who have completed a Story Studio workshop. The focus of the Level 2 course is on refining your authentic voice and honing performance skills, as well as working in-depth on new or existing stories.

The class will start with a review of basic storytelling principles. You'll then work toward furthering the techniques you've already learned (pushing yourself to create action-based scenes, for example, and to fold information into well-chosen sensory details), and practice crafting and refining stories in a supportive group with other advanced students. The instructor will suggest possible projects to work on, but you can choose to focus on whatever will be most productive for you personally -- for example, polishing one or two 5-minute stories for a slam competition; working on an autobiographical solo show; putting together a TED talk; pitching a long-form story to podcasts like RISK!, Snap Judgment or The Story Colliderr; or creating stories with a specific structural, stylistic or emotional goal. The class size will be limited to allow maximum individual attention and storytelling practice time for each student in each class session.
