#metoo Stories Workshop

  • Headwaters Music and Arts 519 Minnesota Avenue Northwest Bemidji, MN, 56601 United States (map)

It can be very hard to talk about #metoo experiences, but when we are able to craft them into stories that can be shared, we break down barriers of shame and isolation. Sharing these stories helps the teller feel less alone, helps the audience empathize, and returns power to the person who was hurt, instead of silencing them.

Laura Packer guides community adult women through innovative creative techniques to craft and tell stories of their experiences. A community performance featuring workshop participants will take place at 7 pm the following evening on Saturday, June 2nd with discussion about #metoo moments.

Please note: This is a storytelling workshop, not therapy. Please bring a story you are prepared to share and an open heart so you can help your co-participants craft their stories. This workshop includes frank discussion of #metoo issues.
