Join us at the Bryant Lake Bowl & Theater for Story Club Minneapolis NOVEMBER, marking the autumn of our FIFTH year in the Twin Cities!
As always, Story Club's structure is half open-mic, half curated performers. Our stage showcases stories, like a slam, but without the intimidating and competitive judges and scoring. It's a great, welcoming evening for beginners and polished artists alike.
November's Featured Storytellers Are....
Martin is a community organizer, stage manager, and salsa cook from Minneapolis who's current focus is on creating community vitality and safety beyond policing. When he's not working on a project you can find him at home with a hard seltzer watching bad TV reruns, or out at a local show nursing a good bourbon.
Mahmoud has been writing, acting, performing and storytelling in the Twin Cities for the past ten plus years. He is a regular performer at the murder mystery show The Dinner Detectives and when not on stage can be regularly be seen performing in security at Minnesota Children's Museum!
Your hosts will be Sam Larsen and Jamie Amy Ann!
Before each show, audience members are invited to put their names in the hat (okay, it's a jar) for the opportunity to tell an up-to-7-minute story onstage. The four storytellers picked from the jar by the host will entertain and charm us with their tales, and they'll be followed by our featured guests (find out who they are on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/StoryClubMinneapolis/).
Does this make you want to tell a story? GOOD! (Do it! Do it! Do it!)
